Please leave your request for a repeat prescription in the box provided, or fax/ post it to the surgery. If you ask us to add your email address to your medical record we will send you an invitation to use ‘The Waiting Room’. This is an on-line service that takes you into the medication screen of your medical records. Your repeat medication is brought up for you to tick the items you require, there is also a free text box to add any comments or request other medication previously prescribed but not listed.
If you prefer you can still send an email to: email@example.com. Internet messaging carries a risk of interception so please be aware of this risk each time you use the service.
If using email please include full details (ie name, address, date of birth plus the full name of the item required including the strength), otherwise tick the items you need on the left-hand section of your previous prescription form. Your prescription will be ready for collection 48 hours or two working days later. If you prefer, we can post it back to you (you will need to provide a stamped, addressed envelope). Arrangements can be made to send your prescription directly to local chemists, please ask at reception.
You can now access the medication screen of your medical record on line and order repeat medication with a simple tick. In order to access this we will need your email address. You will receive an email from ‘The Waiting Room’ with your log in details. It is recommended that you change the password when you log in for the first time. You can also book routine appointments through ‘The Waiting Room’.
Please note – no requests for repeat prescriptions will be taken over the telephone.
There is also a system called repeat dispensing. Your doctor can issue a special prescription for an appropriate period of time (eg six months). During that period the chemist can dispense your prescriptions at monthly intervals without the need for you to obtain further prescriptions. This is only suitable for some patients. If you wish to consider this please discuss with your doctor.
We are keen to ensure that patients with ongoing medical problems are monitored regularly. If the date for your next review with a doctor or nurse has passed you will be asked to make an appointment.
