Partners in Care

Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.

Access

There is good access for the disabled to all of our consultation rooms. A designated parking bay is adjacent to the surgery entrance and the surgery has a ramp and wide doors to allow for wheelchair access.

Improved Access to General Practice (IAGP)

We are participating in a national initiative to offer evening and weekend appointments to make it easier for you to see a doctor, nurse or other healthcare professional at this GP practice.  As from July 2018 we started live with this, we work with Lostwithiel and Fowey River Practice and between the 3 surgeries, known as The Three Harbours offer evening routine appointments to see a GP until 8pm and Saturday and Sundays with a GP.  Please contact us by phone for details on how to book an evening or Saturday appointment.

Middleway Surgery - Research  Network

Middleway Surgery has recently become a member practice of the Clinical Research Network part of the National Institute for Health Research (NHS).

The GP lead for Research is Dr P Daza who joined the Practice in October 2018. Research Activities - are identified by CQC as a quality marker.  The experience of patients recruited into primary care studies is often reflected very positively.  Published evidence has confirmed that patients registered with GP research practices have better health outcomes compared to non-research GP practices.
